International Art Symposium in Cómpeta 17th – 24th of October

Art & creation… …be moved by the energy, light & inspiration!

Since a few years groups of International artists have been visiting the charming mountain village Cómpeta. It has been a big honor they travel from far away to get inspired in Spain!

Lieuwke Loth, who is an artist herself and also runs the art Galeria Luz de la Vida, has been organising art symposiums since 2015. Each time again it has been a great International event, which has brought a lot of joy and new connections. Lieuwke does the curation and always looks for professionalism, authenticity and creativity in the artists works. Artists from all over the world have been gathering to find new friendships, to exchange information, techniques and ideas related to their professions.

The symposium is a public event where locals, art-lovers and visitors can meet the artists and experience how they create their art with spontaneity, originality and creativity. This event broadens horizons and help to improve understanding of other cultures, countries and art.

The 6th International Art Symposium LUZ is planned: 17-24 October 2024

This time the Symposium will take place in the Natural park of Competa.
Possibilities to visit the finca during the creation days:

A special event in the gallery in Competa.
“Meeting on Squares”
With the Symposium artists we will work with the theme: ‘meetings’.
Every artist works on a few 15x15cm wooden plates, canvases or cardboard in black and white.
Roberto, Italian professional musician, will give us live sounds in the gallery that afternoon.
No words just creation and sounds.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy the creative energy and watch the creation processes.
We put all square art works together to one bigger one that will be presented the next day during the inauguration the 24th of Oct. Artist Phuc will create an animation with the results which will be shown on the 24th.
We ‘meet’ the music, the frequencies, the musician, the artists, the colors, the visitors… it is just a flow of creation.
